One thing that confuses a lot of people new to AutoHotkey is if they should have one AutoHotkey script or many. The answer is a bit complicated. In reality you probably want many, however understanding what you should put in your “main” AutoHotkey.ahk script verse individual scripts are a bit complicated.
The decision to combine or separate scripts might often boil down to personal preference. It’s also influenced by how you plan to use these scripts.
For instance, if you anticipate that specific users might only need certain functionalities, it’s beneficial to keep those functions in separate scripts. This approach makes it easier to provide users with exactly what they need without overwhelming them with unnecessary code.
