For my trip last week I was “lucky” enough to miss the horrendous issue CrowdStrike security update however I didn’t realize that air traffic was still backed up which meant my anticipated ~3-hour trip to San Francisco turned into 13-hour trip.
On my first flight the airline representative was Amazing! She frequently used humor to ease our pain but also kept announcing any new information every few minutes. She also made periodic updates to let us know there was no new information.
While we were all annoyed with the delays, I did not see one person ever get “angry”.
During my ~20 years working for corporate America I was always amazed at how regularly communicating project status could keep client’s from having a “melt down”.
It’s one thing I make sure we’re always cognizant of with our “done for you” clients.
We always try and keep them up-to-date of what we’re working on for them. Letting them know when we find roadblocks (and try to have viable options for them to choose from so we can move forward.)

How to Easily Access over 1,000 File Properties
A few years ago we shared FileExpro from Skan. It’s a great v1 script for grabbing meta data from a file however using it was a bit complicated. I asked Irfan to convert FileExpro to v2 however, in our version, we provide a GUI which let’s you see the meta data of a given file AND write the code for getting specific properties! Getting better assistance in VS Code
During a team call Isaias was going to show us how he adds a bit of documentation to our functions/classes which makes a “game changing” experience in VS Code. Thankfully I hit the “record button” because it was pretty awesome! I liked it so much I asked Rizwan to work through our (and other people’s) Functions, Classes, and Libraries. If you’re “old school” like me, you like working from a list. It keeps you organized and it extremely rewarding when you “cross something off”. So much so that, when I do something that was not on my list, I will add it to the list then cross it off.

Around 10 years ago my wife was going through some mundane training at her work. She had very specific things she had to remember for a quiz at the end of the training. I made some minor tweaks to my Window Snipping tool so it would auto-append the image to an MS word doc which would allow her to pull the slides back up during the quiz. She whizzed through her quiz and I was her AHK hero (for a couple of days).
