select multiple items on a form (in mass)

AutoHotkey Merchandise-White Stress ball

In order to speed-up our page load times I like to archive items to an old folder.  Unfortunately there is no easy way to select some, but not all, items.   What I really wanted to do is automate select multiple items from a list.

Web scraping with AutoHotKey to the rescue!!! This simple looper is fast, flexible and a life saver. It simply sends tabs and the space key to my browser window saving me a lot of time and mundane work.  Below is the AutoHotKey code which is set to work in Chrome

WinActivate, ahk_class Chrome_WidgetWin_1 ;activate chrome window- lightning fast compared to IE
Loop, 25
{
Send, {Tab 2} ;sends two tabs
	sleep, 5
Send, {Space} ;selects / deselects item
}
return

And here is a video in case you’re not getting the value.

Easily update Excel graphs; AutoHotKey saved me 100’s of repetitive clicks

Easily update Excel graphs

Easily update Excel graphs

In market research I used to spend a lot of time making sure my charts and graphs were beautiful visualizations that conveyed the data in an easy to understandable way.

I always wanted to make complete use of the range of the graph and would have to, manually, update each one.  I finally learned some object oriented programming and wrote an script in AutoHotKey to easily change the axis on scales in and easily update Excel graphs.  The below video demonstrates how I can just hit a key combo and scroll up/down to adjust the scale.

How to create your own Custom SciTE Hotkeys by hacking your SciTE user.properties file

Custom SciTE Hotkeys

Creating custom SciTE Hotkeys are a great way to speed-up working in SciTE!

I highly recommend you download and print out these built-in SciTE4AutoHotkey hotkeys

Hotkeys are a great way to be more efficient!  AutoHotkey makes it easy to create a hotkey for nearly anything however you can easily create your own custom SciTE Hotkeys by making a tweak to your user.properties file.

Below is the text I have in my user.properties file which builds in hotkeys without needing AutoHotkey.  You can find additional commands by going here.  Just don’t forget you are not limited to these.  In the video I show how you can create your own!  Make sure you do not have any comments within your list.  In my video I have them but I realized, later, that this causes issues.

btw- To be able to highlight text and move it up or down you can add
Ctrl+Shift+Up|2620|\
Ctrl+Shift+Down|2621|\

Transposing clipboard content in any program- No need to run to Excel!

Transposing clipboard content

While it is easy to use Excel to transpose rows into columns, I’ve created an AutoHotkey script which negates the need to.  Basically it examines what is on the clipboard and replaces tabs with line breaks, then it sends paste to the program thus it is transposing clipboard content.  I have it triggered of hitting a hotkey and comes in pretty handy and can save some time if it is something you do frequently.

Below is a video which demonstrates it usage.

^+t:: ;Control, Shift and T trigger script
    StringReplace, clipboard, clipboard,%A_Tab%, `r , All ;replace all tabs with line return
  SendPlay,^v   ;send "paste"
  Return
