Fix Your Internet With One Click, No Commands to Type
Your internet stops working. You reboot the router, wait, and hope. If that does not work, the next step is usually a pile of commands like ipconfig /flushdns and netsh winsock reset that most people never want to type. Fix My Internet does it for you: Run the same network repairs a technician would, with one click and no typing commands.
You Always Know What Is Going On
Plain English explanations. Every test gets a one-line verdict like “Cannot reach the router” or “Internet works but website names do not resolve”, so you know where the problem is, not just that there is one. Rest your mouse on any row or button and a small tip explains what it means.
One Click Repairs
Tick the repairs you want and click Repair. Windows asks for admin permission once, then Fix My Internet runs each step, re-tests your connection, and shows you what changed. The repair list covers the classics:
- Flush the DNS cache
- Get a fresh IP address from the router (release and renew)
- Reset Winsock and reset TCP/IP (the heavy fixes, off by default)
- Turn the network adapter off and back on
- Re-register this PC in DNS
- Switch to public DNS (Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 and Google 8.8.8.8), only if you opt in
VPN and virtual adapters are never touched. Only the real network card you are using gets reset.
It Checks Before It Fixes
Click Check Connection first. No admin rights needed. It looks at your adapter, IP address, router, DNS servers, a router ping, an internet ping, IPv6, website name lookups and whether web pages actually open. On Wi-Fi it also shows the network name, signal strength and channel. It even spots hotel and airport Wi-Fi sign-in pages, so you do not “repair” a connection that just wants you to accept its terms.
Before anything runs, it warns you about setups a reset could break: a work PC joined to a company domain, a fixed IP address, hand-typed DNS servers or a proxy.
A Safety Net
Fix My Internet saves your IP address and DNS settings before a repair. If a reset wipes something you needed, Restore Settings puts it back.
Handy Extras
- Before and after report: an HTML report on your Desktop you can open, or copy the results as text for your internet provider or IT person.
- Tray monitor: re-tests every 30 seconds, shows a green or red dot, and pops up a note only when the connection drops or comes back. Every drop is logged with the time and how long it was down.
- Show Wi-Fi Password: shows the saved password for the network you are on and copies it, handy for a guest or a phone.
- Open Router Page: opens your router’s settings page without hunting for its address.
- Optional speed test and public IP lookup, both off unless you tick them.
Requirements
- Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
- AutoHotkey v2.0.2 or newer
- No admin rights to check. Windows only asks for permission when you click Repair or Restore Settings.
- Nothing is uploaded. The checks only contact public test servers.
Next time the internet drops, skip the guesswork: Run the same network repairs a technician would, with one click and no typing commands.
