AutoHotkey Newsletter January 9th, 2025 – Programming your self!

Howdy %Name%,

I was listening to Psycho Cybernetics, an interesting book talking about humans can “program themselves”, and the book was discussing how torpedoes/missiles work.

I realized the same analogy could help people understand how to program better in AutoHotkey so I extracted the audio section, uploaded to NotbookLM and gave it some instructions.

The result is a good way to help think about developing your code in AutoHotkey.

You can listen to it here.

So how are you going to program yourself?

Playing with Hotkeys

Isaias and I had a lot of fun discovering an available hotkey that you probably don’t know you have!

We discuss it and a few things that can be done with it in this video.

We also show how you can take different actions based on either how long you press the key or how many times.

Improving People’s Lives: Story #33

A close friend of mine is losing his vision and has a difficult time reading black text on a white background.

I asked Isaias to create a “dark theme” version of our AI OCR tool.

I just showed it to him and it seems like it will really help him (and others with his condition)

What we utomated this YEAR with AutoHotkey #71

This episode I decided to go back 365 days to see what we’d automated with AutoHotkey.

Amazingly we had 3,437 AutoHotkey files we’d updated in the last year.

I talk through a bunch of them in this video!
