Stop Forgetting Mid-Task, Meet RemindMe for AHK v2 Script

RemindMe: Capture a Reminder in Two Seconds — and Get It Even When Your PC Is Off

You know the moment: you’re mid-task and a thought hits — “call the dentist at 3pm,” “renew the domain tomorrow.”
Stop to open a calendar and you lose your flow; ignore it and you forget. RemindMe is a tiny, always-ready
AutoHotkey tool that fixes exactly that. Press one hotkey, type the task, say when, and you’re done — back to work in seconds.

Better yet, RemindMe can reach you two ways: an email scheduled on a server (so it arrives even if your
computer is asleep or shut down) or an instant pop-up toast on your PC. Pick one — or fire both at once.

Why RemindMe?

  • Capture in two seconds — One global hotkey (Ctrl+Alt+R) opens the box from any app. Type, press Enter, done.
  • Reminders that survive a power-off — Email reminders are scheduled on a server, so they fire even if your machine is asleep or switched off.
  • Plain-English timing — Type 15m, 2h, 3 days, 9am, tomorrow 9am, or next week. No fiddly date pickers.
  • Local toasts, instantly — Want a pop-up on this PC right now-ish? Shift+Enter and it’s set.
  • No accounts, no OAuth dance — Email runs on a free Resend API key you paste once. That’s the whole setup.
  • Yours to keep — Free, open, and licensed CC BY 4.0. Read the source, tweak it, make it yours.

Three Ways to Send a Reminder

After you type your task and a “when,” choose how it reaches you:

PressWhat happens
EnterSchedules an email reminder (fires even if your PC is off).
Shift+EnterPops a local toast on this PC at the chosen time.
Ctrl+EnterBoth — a toast and an email for the same task.
Tip: A live preview under the box shows the exact date and time each option will fire, so you always know what you’re getting before you commit.

Email Setup Takes One Minute

Local toasts work the instant you launch RemindMe — nothing to configure. For email reminders, it’s a quick one-time step:

  1. Create a free account at resend.com and generate an API key.
  2. In RemindMe’s tray menu, open Email settings (Resend).
  3. Paste your key and recipient email, click Save. Done — no browser redirects, no OAuth.
Note: Email reminders are one-time and up to 30 days out. Need something recurring or further away? Use a local toast, or set a fresh reminder when it’s closer.

Little Touches That Add Up

  • Manage & cancel — A clean dark window lists every pending local reminder so you can cancel one in a click.
  • Your colors — Recolor the toast title, message, and background to taste, with a live “Test toast” preview.
  • Runs at login — Flip on “Run on startup” and RemindMe is always quietly ready in the tray.
  • Never double-fires — If your PC sleeps through a reminder, RemindMe catches up on wake without replaying old ones.

Stop Forgetting. Start Reminding.

RemindMe lives in your tray, costs nothing, and turns a fleeting thought into a reminder you’ll actually receive —
on this PC or in your inbox. Grab it and give your memory the day off.
