Rufaydium: Browser Automation for AutoHotkey v2, No Selenium Needed

Rufaydium browser automation library logoEver tried to automate a website and hit a wall?

Send and Click break the moment the page moves. Copy and paste is slow. And setting up Selenium on Windows is a project all by itself.

There’s a better way: drive the browser directly, the same way testing tools do.

How about you? What website chore would you hand off if the browser could just do it?

That’s what Rufaydium is for. It’s a browser automation library for AutoHotkey v2, converted by Xeo786. 😊

No Selenium Required

Rufaydium talks to the browser through WebDriver, the official standard browsers use for automation.

The cool thing is you don’t install anything extra. Rufaydium downloads the right driver for you.

If your browser updates and the driver falls behind, it offers to update the driver too (Chrome and Edge).

It works with:

  • Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Firefox
  • Opera
  • Brave and other Chromium browsers

Tabs, Clicks, Screenshots, PDFs and More

  • Open pages and tabs, and switch between tabs by title or URL
  • Find elements on the page and read or fill them in
  • Click, type, scroll, and drag with real mouse and keyboard actions
  • Take screenshots, including the full length of a page
  • Save a page as a PDF
  • Handle pop-up alerts automatically
  • Use your own Chrome profile, so you’re already logged in
  • Run headless or incognito when you don’t need to see the browser
  • Reach into shadow DOM elements that other tools can’t see

Open Chrome and Read a Page Title

Open Chrome, go to a page, and show its title:

#Include Rufaydium.ahk
Chrome := Rufaydium()           ; gets the matching driver if needed
Page := Chrome.NewSession()     ; opens Chrome
Page.Navigate("https://www.autohotkey.com/")
MsgBox Page.Title
Page.Close()
Chrome.Exit()                   ; stops the driver

If you’re comfortable with Objects and Classes, it’ll feel natural right away.

Rufaydium for AutoHotkey v2 is $4.99.

One thing I’ve learned: if you do it in a browser every day, a script can probably do it for you.

Pick the most boring website task you have and start there. 🚀
