⚠️ Before You Buy: You Supply Your Own API Key
SearchOnConcept uses AI to understand your documents, which means it connects to an AI service using your own API key (you create the account; usage is billed to you, typically just pennies per project):
- For documents (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CSV, HTML, text) — you need a free OpenRouter API key. That’s it.
- For audio & video — you also need an AssemblyAI API key (for accurate timestamps) and FFmpeg installed (a free, standard media tool).
If you only search text documents, the single OpenRouter key is all you’ll ever need. Keys are pasted into the app once in Settings.
How It Works
