Set Up a New Windows PC in One Go with PC Setup

A fresh Windows PC means an afternoon of chores: search for each program, find the real download button, click through one installer after another, and hope you did not forget anything. PC Setup turns that afternoon into a few clicks. Here is the whole idea: Set up a new Windows PC in one go: tick the apps you want and they all install with a single admin prompt.
Take the Same Setup to Any PC
Export a PCSetup.cmd file and run it on any other PC to install the same apps there. The file asks for admin rights once, installs every app on its list, and saves a log to the Desktop, so a second laptop, a family member’s PC or a freshly reset machine gets your exact setup without AutoHotkey installed.
What PC Setup Does
One admin prompt for the whole batch
Click Install selected, say Yes to Windows once, and PC Setup installs every ticked app one after another, silently, with no installer wizards to click through. A failure on one app never stops the rest.
57 popular apps, straight from Microsoft’s winget catalog
Browsers, developer tools, media, chat, utilities and gaming launchers, grouped in one tickable list: Chrome, Firefox, VS Code, Git, Python, Node.js, VLC, OBS Studio, GIMP, Discord, Zoom, 7-Zip, PowerToys, Everything, Steam and many more. Every app comes from winget, Microsoft’s own app installer that ships with Windows, so there are no download sites to dig through.
Quick picks for common setups
Four preset buttons tick a ready-made set in one click: Dev Laptop, Gaming PC, Video Editor and Everyday PC. Presets only add ticks, so you can combine them and then fine-tune the list by hand. Clear all starts over.
Live results and a full install log
The Status column updates as each app goes: Installing, Installed, Already installed or Failed with its error code. When the run ends you get a summary, and Open log shows everything winget reported.
Small touches that save time
- Your ticks are saved automatically, so they are still there next time you open it.
- If winget is missing, PC Setup says so in plain English and opens the Microsoft Store page for App Installer.
- Rest the mouse on any button or the list to see what it does. The tips can be turned off from the tray menu.
- A clean dark window, and a user guide (HTML and PDF) in the download.
Requirements
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| AutoHotkey | v2.0.2 or newer |
| Windows | Windows 10 or 11 with winget (the free App Installer from the Microsoft Store) |
| Admin rights | Not needed to pick apps. Installing asks for admin once for the whole batch. |
Next time you unbox a laptop or reset Windows, skip the afternoon of installers. Set up a new Windows PC in one go: tick the apps you want and they all install with a single admin prompt.
