Get Your Custom Folder Icons Back on Any PC in One Click
You spent time giving your important folders their own icons, so you can spot them at a glance. Then you open the same folders on your laptop or a new PC, and they are all plain yellow folders again. Windows only shows a custom icon when a hidden setting file and a special folder flag are both in place, and Dropbox does not carry either one across.
CustomFolderIcon fixes that: Get all your custom folder icons back on a new PC in one click, instead of re-setting them one by one.
Make New Icons Right From Explorer
Right-click any folder or drive and choose Create Custom Icon to make a new icon on the spot. One click on Add Explorer Menu sets it up. It needs no admin rights, and you can take it away again just as easily.
What It Does
Restore Every Icon at Once
Click Apply All and every folder on the list gets its icon back. It writes the icon setting, turns on the folder flag Windows looks for, and refreshes Explorer for you. Prefer to pick and choose? Select a few rows and click Apply Selected.
Take Your Icons to Another PC
Export the list to a small text file on your old PC, then import it on the new one. If your drive letter is different there, type the old and new letters in the On import, replace boxes (for example S:\ with X:\) and every path still lines up.
See Every Custom Icon in One List
Pick a start folder and click Scan. You get a list of every folder with a custom icon, with a picture of each icon and a status column that tells you whether it works on this PC or needs fixing. Tick List drives to include drive letters with custom icons too.
Change or Remove Icons Fast
Right-click any row to change its icon, remove it, or open the folder. Before anything is changed or removed, the old setting is backed up, so you can always go back.
