I recently heard that AOL is cancelling its dial-up service!

I remember when I worked at Texas Instruments, I refused to upgrade Excel to the “ribbon” version.  So much so I even purchased “I-Hate-the-Ribbon.com“.

A couple of years later my 56-year-old colleague was “cut“ from TI and had a really difficult time finding a job because he was “old school“.

His getting laid off knocked some sense into me and I got on the “ribbon” bandwagon (although I still hate it).

AI is now speeding-up everything!  It’s a constant topic in our AHK Hero calls!

You really should join just to have a group of friends to help you stay on the “cutting edge”.

For Quick and Dirty Automations

As the above video mentions there are times when you just need something quick and not robust.

That’s exactly what I had in mind when I created our ClickGrabber.

It let’s you get coordinates of your clicks very quickly and writes the code for you to send them.

Irfan nailed it but what I found brilliant about Danny’s request is that, while he was perfectly capable of writing the script himself, he had other, more important, things to do and his time.

What we utomated this week with AutoHotkey #99

In this week’s video I give a rundown of all the cool AutoHotkey stuff the creator has been messing around with this week.

The big highlights are a mic volume script that keeps your audio levels from getting randomly messed up by Zoom or other apps (which is super annoying when editing videos), an error capture tool that automatically grabs those pesky runtime errors and dumps them in your clipboard so you can just paste them into AI.

I also demo a click grabber tool that watches what you click and writes the AutoHotkey code for you.

There’s also a bunch of other neat utilities like a file browser for recent stuff, a URL tracker for video production, and an invoice calculator that makes billing way easier.
